Artist’s statement:

I have been making art for many years and have experimented with many different mediums but my favourite medium is oils.  The rich glossy texture of oil paint is ideal for using in my sky studies. For some time now clouds have been my favourite subject.  Clouds provide a continual challenge to capture the colours and abstract shapes.  Clouds are truly magic, something we can all share and enjoy. Watching the ever-changing patterns and kaleidoscope of colours that nature provides. in the skies is something people all over the world have in common and can appreciate.  Gazing at the sky can take you out of yourself to experience the bigger spiritual picture of life.

Fay Salmon   菲  賽門

 

菲。賽門  出生於50年代位於澳洲維多利亞的一個鄉村,目前訂居在墨爾本.

菲於1993年取得大學藝術學士文憑並贏得肯鄧恩最加攝影作品獎.期間曾舉辦

多次個展和聯展.2004年參加在澳洲舉行的第七屆”她的色彩空間”系列展.

在美國,加拿大的畫廊,以及墨爾本.蘇格蘭和香港私人收藏家皆有收藏其作品.

菲除了油畫之外,也了擅長雕刻,拼貼,攝影,鉛筆和水彩畫.她曾於藝術研習營擔任

畫作指導老師.

 

菲的畫記錄了澳洲的天空和雲彩,也受到鄉村的氣氛和景致的影響,以寫實風格走向抽象印象派.

菲目前在安養中心擔任行政核心幹部.

  雲彩是真正的魔術,世界上不分人種不分何地,我們都能共同欣賞到天空多變如萬花筒般的顏色,而那景象是無價的,是財富,權勢也無法取代的東西. 而凝視天空則能將人帶引到更寬廣的精神境界..她說
