Jan Ross explained how her work is about how life changes, it is always in transience. The butterflies have a short life span and they are delicate creatures who when touched are damaged. The background wattle also continually falls off, then re-grows again in a cycle. The Australian sky in the silhouette has clouds which change as also people can change.
